提示︰下面兩本書是學校建議的暑假閱讀書籍，請依書名想想看該書的內容，並思考你會選擇哪一本書閱讀，為什麼？請在第一段說明你會選哪一本書及你認為該書的內容大概會是什麼，第二段提出你選擇該書的理由。

 

"EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL: Respect Others & Be Yourself" is the book I would like to read for sure. According to its title, I think the book focuses on two different aspects: respect others and be one’s self. The first part, respecting others, may refer to having an open mind to embrace different ideas, opinions, or personalities. The author might give us some tips on how to react when facing people quite different from us. The other aspect of the book may show us how to love ourselves and accept our own shortcomings and appreciate our strengths. In this part, the author might talk about the secret of how to avoid negative emotions such as jealousy and disappointment.

    I prefer the book because of two reasons. First, I believe that respecting one another is the foundation of a peaceful society. As the saying goes, "Blessed are the peacemakers." Many conflicts among people are due to disrespect. Take myself as an example. I used to be very confident in myself because I won many speech contests. I thought public speaking is a piece of cake. For some introverts, public speaking may be a very hard task. I despised my classmates and friends for their shyness and timidness when they gave reports in class, which created disharmony among us. I did not understand the problem until one of my classmates told me that he was bothered by my rudeness . Thanks to his openness, I learned to respect others and to be a peace-maker, rather than a trouble-maker. The second reason I would like to read this book is because I need to learn how to accept myself. I am always unhappy with my appearance. My skin problems, height, and eye disorder bothered me a lot. Whether I like it or not, I cannot change anything. I believe this book can give me some good advice to get rid of my depression. These are my two reasons for choosing this book.
